High quality family planning services help individuals meet their reproductive health needs safely and effectively.
To ensure the provision of high quality family planning services and in preparation for the official launch of the clinics' accreditation system, "Al-Wessam," in the northern Egyptian governorate of Menufiya, The Ministry of Health and Population's Family Planning Sector, in collaboration with UNFPA and funded by the European Union, carried out a two-day training on 16 and 17 September.
The workshop targeted family planning directors, medical supervisors, nurse supervisors and community health workers from all directorates in the governorate, who were trained on using the evaluation forms for selecting the centers of excellence as part of the EU Support to Egypt's National Population Strategy project.
Al-Wessam is an accreditation system where family planning units across Egypt are assessed based on a set of indicators and criteria set by the Ministry of Health and Population, and awarded based on their score.
The EU Support to Egypt's National Population Strategy project is funded by the European Union and aims at increasing the use of voluntary, rights-based family planning.
