Each year, more countries are establishing reproductive health commodity security as an integral and permanent component of the overall health sector plan and a key strategy in reducing maternal and newborn death and preventing the spread of HIV.
Since 2007, the Thematic Fund for Reproductive Health Commodity Security has helped UNFPA work systematically with national governments to carry out the diverse and multi-faceted work needed to ensure that all individuals can obtain and use affordable, quality reproductive health supplies of their choice whenever they need them. This year's annual report of the Global Programme to Enhance Reproductive Health Commodity Security reveals significant progress and measurable impact in the over 70 countries supported.
