In commemoration of the 75th anniversary of the United Nations, UNFPA, in cooperation with Ministry of Youth and Sports and Etijah Youth and Development Consultancy Institute, held two events in Qena and Aswan governorates.
100 youth volunteers participated in the events in Qena and Aswan, where they listened to the Nawah musical performance on family planning and gender-based violence. The volunteers also participated in the interactive sessions held by Y-Peer on gender-based violence.
Additionally, the youth filled in the United Nations survey, which was launched in January 2020 to mark the UN 75th anniversary. The survey aims at engaging young people and listening to their voices and ideas regarding facing the current challenges caused by COVID-19 pandemic.
Although the 75th anniversary of the United Nations and its founding Charter comes in a time of a global health crisis, the youth volunteers participating in the 2 events made a point that times of struggle can become an opportunity for innovation and positive change.
