UNFPA Egypt secures the procurement of contraceptives to address the needs of Ministry of Health and Population / Family Planning Sector

In an effort to reinforce responsiveness to urgent requests from national counterparts, UNFPA Egypt Country Office supported and managed the procurement of 17,500 unit of Implanon Subdermal Implant through PSB to address the needs of the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP )/Family Planning Sector.   

UNFPA Egypt selected Implant, from the requested items, as a contraceptive method to be procured.  This is based on the understanding of the significant investment of these items as well as provision of considerable contribution to the Government in difficult times.   

The procurement was processed through 2011 Annual Working Plan for Strengthening the Contraceptive Commodity Security System. The goods have been cleared by UNFPA and delivered to the MoHP Central warehouse.
