In order to broaden access to reproductive health information, UNFPA completed the digitization of a family planning course in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Population in March, 2025.
Funded by Organon, the initiative converted traditional training into digital modules and employs e-learning tools to create accessible and engaging content, ultimately enhancing healthcare capacity and family planning access in Egypt.
The course targets healthcare service providers in addition to community members so they can reach useful information regarding premarital counseling and family planning.
The course is composed of four modules covering family planning, premarital counseling, effective communication for counseling and family planning for women with disability.
UNFPA aims to increase access to family planning education and positively impact reproductive health and family planning access across Egypt.
The course is accessible on the LearnUNFPA platform, which offers a wide range of certified online courses for young people, trainers and service providers, capitalizing on the use of interactive tools that guarantee regular engagement on different population topics, including family planning, harmful practices, ensuring effective response to violence against women by service providers, and strengthening capacities to deliver needed services.
