The National Council for Women and UNFPA concluded a training for members of the Administrative Prosecution Authority on its role in combating violence against women in the workplace on December 1, in cooperation with the Ministry of Justice.

The 3-day workshop discussed the role of the Administrative Prosecution in confronting violence against women, including issues related to crimes of harassment, and female genital mutilation (FGM).

The workshop also presented international conventions that aim to eliminate violence against women, along with the different forms of violence women are subjected to.

This comes as part of activities held within the context of the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence, which start on November 25, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, and run until December 10, Human Rights Day.

This workshop was organized with the support of KOICA and the Royal Norwegian Embassy.
