UNFPA partnered with the Body Shop on a joint campaign to enhance self-worth and self-awareness among young women and girls to nurture their leadership capabilities. The campaign featured Noura, who called for raising the voice of young girls to help them know their rights, build friendships, access quality reproductive health services, access inclusive and equitable quality education services and make informed decision about their future.

UNFPA showcased its work on employing edutainment tools to raise awareness on climate change during a panel discussion at the UN Egypt Pavilion on November 9, at COP27 in Sharm el-Sheikh.

The Nawah Community Art Volunteers from Sohag performed a play titled "Devil's Sea" at COP27 in Sharm El-Sheikh. The theater performance was developed by the young volunteers, supported by UNFPA, to raise the awareness of their community members on the impact of Climate Change on women’s and girls’ health and access to services.

This comes as part of the Population Awareness Clubs, which operate in different Youth Centers around the country. They host different awareness activities around population issues for young people using different edutainment tools.

وصلت نورة إلى شرم الشيخ لتشرح تأثير تغير المناخ على الفتيات في يوم النوع الاجتماعي في COP27. نورة هي مبادرة وطنية تهدف إلى تمكين الفتيات بشكل عام ليكن قادرات على مواجهة التأثيرات السلبية للتغير المناخى حول العالم.. تأتي نورة تحت رعاية السيدة الأولى السيدة انتصار السيسي، ويتم تنفيذ المبادرة بالتعاون بين صندوق الأمم المتحدة للسكان والمجلس القومي للمرأة.

Noura made it all the way to Sharm el-Sheikh to explain the impact of Climate Change on adolescent girls on Gender Day at COP27. Noura is a national initiative aimed at empowering adolescent girls to be able to face the negative impacts of climate change around the world. Noura comes under the auspices of the First Lady Mrs. Intisar El-Sisi, and implemented in cooperation between the National Council for Women and UNFPA.
